RE: Bathroom cabinet tri-light dead

try this--the light is 12v. the circuit is completed by a flimsy tin plate attached to the inside of the fixture (acts as the ground wire). unscrew the 2 screws holding the fixture on, and examine that connection. it is hopefully just loose. re tighten it, screw the fixture back on and presto-let there be light!

RE: Has anyone ever ran Uniroyal Laredo LR "E"

thats what came stock on my 07 eagle. so far so good-waaaaay better than some of the off name junk that is constantly talked about on here. i estimate 3000 miles so far and no signs of wear or other issues. good tire imho.

RE: Something that Might be Worth While to Know!!!

they also have this thing now called a bat. apparently thieves can use it to open the cars windows real quick. bottom line is that if they want it, theyll get it. i cant go through life being so afraid that i wont use my keyless entry, or put up a sign with my name on it, or pay with anything but cash. previous poster hit it head on-its just barely good enough to keep an honest man out.

RE: slide-out tip-over risk?

while i dont think it will tip, its never a bad idea to do it anyways. figuring the slide may weight 1 tenth of what the coach weighs, some serious weight would have to be in it to get the far side wheels off the ground. BUT--that amount of weight definitely can cause that coach to lean to the side-thereby making the slideout motor work harder to pull the slide in. its not worth risking either over 60 seconds of dropping jacks. RE: How much stuff did you get?

manual awning as opposed to power, center awning rafter, maxxairs, shocks, alum rims, 21k trailair pinbox, 18k superglide hitch w/ superrails, shocks, 50' water hose, 20' sewer hose + donut, 50' 50 amp power cord, 50 to 30 adapter, aluminum bumper cover, raised axles and dropped pinbox to match my truck, free nights camping at a local cg, extra set of keys, 2 interior light fixtures, 12v light switch, 12v power socket, installation on everything, tube of roof sealant(for just incase), a few interior mods, cell phone number to the dealership owner(whom i dealt with), 33% off factory msrp(i checked it), and stupid money for my trade(checked that too). Yet another reason it was the 6th rv in as many years bought from him. Hope I remembered everything-its been a while.

RE: Dumb question 142 - Electrical cord and hose storage

electric- i use a rectangle milk crate. i punched a hole through one side just big enough for the plug. i keep enough cord out to go from the ground to the plug and coil the rest inside. keeps it from getting tangled. i heard not to do that because of heat buildup, but in all the times ive checked it, it has never been hot to the touch.
water- i have 2 hoses, each with their own 5 gallon bucket. coil it inside, close the lid and all the wayer dirt is contained. easy and no mess. works for me.

RE: Tonneau cover clearance

Im leaning towards the truxedo also. a friend has the access and the rails are really chewed up from the pibox. my clearance is tight already, so the access is definitely out. the truxedo seems to have the least amount of intrusion into the bed and on top of the rails. btw-op-where did you find it for $210?

RE: Feeling Ripped Off

dont think so- his price includes joe schmo walking in off the street wanting him to fix this and that and beating him down on price. just because it is listed at that price in that condition doesnt mean thats how it is going to be sold. plus, hes gotta make something on it because im sure you got a heck of a deal on yours right?

RE: Cheapest Blue Tote Waste Water Container

Im not sure this is the type of item where finding the cheapest is a good thing. Think of the contents-if el cheapo breaks, suddenly the extra bucks for a good one makes alot of sense. thats definitely not the kind of mess id be willing to deal with over saving a few bucks. talk about a good reason to kick yourself.

RE: fiver length info

the advertised length will vary according to the manufacturer. some say length is from front wall to rear, others pinbox to bumper, others somewhere in between. only true way is to do it yourself. i agree with the above that it should be measured total length. mine advertised is 37 feet and some change, but according to the tape it is 40'. important info to have when it comes to parking. it is also advisable to measure height yourself also. a 2x4 placed across at the highest point will allow to you measure to the ground.

RE: LP detector going off !!

they do go bad after a while. same thing happened to me in my old tt. it was about $15 to replace-definitely worth replacing. a simple cut and splice of the wires was the level of difficulty.

RE: Which hitch weight?

go as big as possible. while you may not need the extra now, it will make it so you dont have to get another hitch when the inevitable upgrade happens. plus too much is always better than not enough.

ive tried several. the newest and best ive found is the dirt devil broom vac. cordless, bagless, and plenty of suck power. no beater bar, but still does great on carpet and dog hair. link

RE: Patio Mat Storage

fold it up and store it in your trashcan. that keeps it out of the way and will catch any dirt/moisture that comes from it. while in transit i usually wedge it under the kitchen table and that keeps it from falling over.

RE: Anybody replaced Dexter pin box on Jayco 5er?

Great decision-highly recommended. As previously said, your frame is made by leland engineering. Dexter provides the axles and running gear. You will need to get either an L08 or M17 from trailair. The only difference between the two is that the L08 is 5 inches longer and is classified as an "extended" pinbox. I see you have an 07 hd. If it is the new body style, MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU GET THE M17!!! The new body style trucks have a deeper bed and wider bed rails and the extended version will have contact with the rails. It will clear on level ground, but any off angle maneuvering, and your day will be as bad as mine was:M. If you have the old body style, it doesnt matter. The extended is nice for additional cab clearance and maneuvering, just not on a new body style truck. IMHO, the trailair is the way to go. It has the most movement to provide for maximum travel and suspension. Infact I have an extended Im trying to swap for a shorty. As far as the frame warranty goes, my dealer installed it and verified with Jayco that there would be no issues in the unlikely event something happened. Surprisingly, they were happy about it as the suspension it provides eases some of the stress on frame. Good luck-hope this helped.

RE: Trail Air Hitch/Suspension System

i have the trair air hitch and shocks. the difference between my setup and fixed pinbox/no shocks is night and day. i can only imagine the trailair susp is only that much better. get it-you wont be sorry.
